A popular equine insecticide company is making a move into the nutrition market.
Pyranha announced Wednesday that it has acquired Adeptus Nutrition, an equine and pet performance supplement line.
“The addition of Adeptus Nutrition allows Pyranha to more broadly serve the needs of animal owners,” says Ron Traina, Pyranha’s president and CEO. “By not only having a supplement line, but a supplement line of this caliber, Pyranha will now positively impact the health and well-being of livestock and pets from inside, while our grooming and insecticide line keeps them healthy and happy on the outside. It’s a natural combination of products and a synergistic approach for the Pyranha brand.”
All Adeptus Nutrition supplements were developed under the principles of science-based nutrition by Adeptus founder and CEO Dr. Colleen Wilson, who is not only a PhD in animal nutrition and physiology, but also a lifelong competitive equestrian and pet owner, according to a news release from Pyranha. Wilson will remain beyond Pyranha’s acquisition of Adeptus as an on-going consultant.
