American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
A hands-on equine anatomy workshop will be taught Nov 1-7, 2020, at Anatomy in Clay Centers in Denver, Colo. Jon Zahourek, the instructor, has taught workshops for more than 40 years for renowned equestrians such as Monty Roberts, Wendy Murdoch and Susan Harris, and for the Smithsonian Institution and Darwin Centre/Natural History Museum in London.
Day 1: Introduction to the Anatomy in Clay Learning System, terminology, the skeletal system,
begin building in clay the muscles of multifidus and begin the intrinsic musculature of the AXIAL subsystem.
Day 2: Complete the AXIAL subsystem.
Day 3: Build the intrinsic musculature of the VISCERAL and BRANCHIAL subsystem. Discussion of evolutionary topics.
Day 4: Day off.
Day 5: Build the PECTORAL subsystem.
Day 6: Build the PELVIC subsystem.
Day 7: Build the EXTRINSIC musculature, which connects all subsystems.
