Shane Westman, farrier at the University of California-Davis explores his research that earned him a graduate diploma in equine locomotor research from the Royal Veterinary College. The study, published in 2024 in Veterinary Surgery, evaluates a novel hoof immobilization technique on the fracture gap width in experimentally created type 3 distal phalanx fractures in cadaver specimens under simulated physiologic loads.
