Orange Beach, Ala., farrier William Kenneth “Kenny” Nelson passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018.

Nelson spent 40 years as a farrier with a dedication to animals. He also created art by repurposing old horseshoes.

A celebration of life will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Mulder Memorial United Methodist Church, 3454 Firetower Rd., Wetumpka, Ala. Guests are asked to wear jeans or other casual attire and bring memories in Nelson’s honor.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Montgomery Cancer Center, American Cancer Society, Humane Society of Elmore County Animal Shelter or Montgomery Area Nontraditional Equestrians (Mane) Program.
