Wimberley, Texas, farrier Stephanie Abbott passed away unexpectedly Thursday, April 1, 2021. She was 64.
Abbott enjoyed training, showing riding and shoeing horses. She was an American Farrier’s Association certified farrier for more than 25 years and was a contributor to American Farriers Journal. She had a passion for canine rescue, saving many dogs over the years, primarily French Bulldogs. Before finding what became her lifelong passion as a farrier, Abbott had many jobs from exercising polo ponies and organizing celebrity team penning events in California to driving a horse-drawn carriage in Colorado. Her life revolved around her love for horses and dogs.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to causes close to Abbott’s heart: Pug Rescue of Austin or Short Mugs Rescue Squad and make a note “in memory of Stephanie Abbott.”
