Goode, Va., farrier John “Woody” Bare Jr. passed away Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2021. He was 33.

Bare began shoeing horses with his father at the age of 14. He was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter and fisherman.

A service celebrating his life will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Nov. 15, 2021, at Whitten Timberlake Chapel. Interment will follow in the Leffler Memorial Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends for 1 hour before the service.

Bare was a consistent donor to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the family request memorial contributions be made to St. Jude in his memory.
