Rich Klauber became my farrier in 1997. I had around 10 horses at the time. I struggled finding a farrier because I really wanted perfection. Rich came along and a quarter of a century later, he’s still it. When I began the horse rescue in 2005, he stepped right up willing to help in every way. Many horses coming in 
had never been handled and many others had behavioral issues. Without missing a beat, Rich carefully and meticulously worked through every individual and never once was injured doing so, which was a feat in and of itself. He’s got a good feel, solid horsemanship and really great farrier skills and a big heart. Nothing could hold Rich down for long. Several hip replacements, a previously broken back and life’s general rollercoaster have not stopped him. Back in 2014, Rich taught me how to trim and supervised my work of our 40-50 horses for years. Presently, when my back fails me from time to time, Rich is only a phone call away and he continues to step up and give me a hand with our many aged and special needs horses that are really a challenge to do. There are few professionals I know who embody their career so perfectly. Highly skilled, kind, dependable and extremely willing to share his knowledge, especially in order to help a horse have a better life and their owner a better horse. He’s someone who is a gift to the industry.
