Richard Armentrout (Canton, Ohio)
This farrier not just deserves recognition, but an award. His skill, patience, knowledge, mentorship and friendship are incomparable to anyone I’ve ever met. Richard Armentrout, aka “Mr Rich,” is one of the most respectful farriers and men, I’ve ever known and worked with.
His commitment to God and family and the horses in his charge, compare with no one. The long hours during the day, the late night case study work, and my endless calls/texts/messages, along with clients; he never gets annoyed or is bothered. (No matter how many times he has to repeat or re explain).
Richard Armentrout, is the one who saved my career when I thought for sure I was going to quit. He encouraged me, pushed and continues to push me to be better and think outside the box. If I don’t understand or get something, Rich’s steady hands and patient character is there to reassure or guide me.
If not for this humble, farrier and man, I wouldn’t be where I am today. I have nothing but the utmost respect for him. His character as a person, co-worker, humility and integrity are one that is unmatched. His dedication to God, the farrier community, and horses in his care are more than just a work or mentor learning experience. I am so blessed to get to work with Rich and call him a friend. He deserves so much more than mention by me. I can only hope, and want to model my career and business after him.
Thank you Rich, for your endless wisdom and knowledge, patience and compassion and dedication for the work you do. Thank you for everything you’ve taught me and I cannot wait to work along side you again and learn more.
