Fred Crosier, of Metropolis, Ill., passed away on July 15, 2022. He was 83.

Crosier was of Baptist faith. He retired as a farrier after 47 years of shoeing. When Crosier began his career as a farrier, they did not have ready-made horseshoes. At the age of 16, Crosier became a blacksmith and began bending his own shoes. Horses were Crosier’s life. Crosier enjoyed shoeing and riding horses, trail riding, and working with young horses and mules and was a member of the American Farrier’s Association.

Graveside services were held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 17, 2022 in Masonic Cemetery, 38 Marberry Dr., Metropolis, Ill. 62960 with Bro. Justin Wolfe officiating. There was no visitation. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
