Chester, N.Y., farrier Douglas Ehrmann passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023. He was 65.

A true horseman for more than 50 years, Ehrmann was the owner of The Sound Equine in Chester. He was an inventor with several patents, including D.E. HoofTaps.

“Doug was a loving husband and father and the best grandfather. He loved life and horses. His favorite saying was ‘It’s all about the horse.’”

Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 10, 2023. A funeral service will follow at 7 p.m. at the Lazear-Smith & Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 17 Oakland Ave., Warwick, NY.
