Dale Arnold (Anville, Pa.)
Dale is among the best in the industry. His top of the line work is phenomenal. He is extremely knowledgeable and informative. He’s always so patient with each horse! He has such a fun and fantastic personality, which makes it that much better to work with him! I can’t say enough good things about Dale! Everything he does certainly is “top notch!”

My husband is Dale Arnold. His father taught him how to shoe. In 1979, we were married and he shod horses in a Datsun b210 no air conditioning but he loved shoeing at the racetrack. He built up a great business. In 1995, we were breaking some of our own horses on our farm, a colt he was riding broke in two. He broke his pelvis while on the horse after being double impacted. He was bucked off hard to the ground. He was taken by ambulance to the Hershey Medical Center. His pelvic bone punctured him internally and he had life threatening injuries. He was in the hospital for a month. He came home with visiting nurses twice a day. The only thing he asked the doctors through it all was when will I be able to shoe again, and that was with a pelvic fixator and a colostomy bag in a wheelchair. Nine months later, he crawled under his first horse. He was physically week but his will was as strong as iron. Today at the age of 64 he shoes up to 8 a day. Loving being a farrier is an understatement.

Dale is the best farrier around. A super fantastic person and an even better horseman. He is always there whenever you need him and really takes care of our horses! We love him!

Dale Arnold is in his 45th year as a full-time farrier and is still shoeing 10-12 a day! He is highly recognized in the Central Pennyslvania area for shoeing top barrel horses, race horses and hunters and jumpers. He is a second generation farrier, and I was fortunate enough apprentice under him. I extended it to three generations, and am so lucky to follow in my Dad’s footsteps.

I have known Dale for a long time and know what a good farrier he is. Almost 2 years ago my mare foundered badly and had some coffin bone rotation. Another vet told me to call a specialist to see if she could be saved. I talked to Dale and told him I was going to make a mud pit and stand her in it to get heat out of feet and he agreed. When it was time to put shoes on her, Dale put them on and has been doing it since. She is sound and is back to breakaway roping for my granddaughter with no signs of lameness or other feet issues. I truely believe Dale saved my mare.

Dale is a wonderful farrier who is kind and patient with us and our horses. He does an excellent and thorough job on our horses’ hooves, explains everything and is a natural teacher. He has dropped everything to help us with hoof issues, even met us right after he got back from an out of town trip. We just love him and the care he gives to our horses.

Uncle Dale is my farrier and he does exceptional work. He loves his job as a farrier and always says, “It isn’t work when you love doing it this much.” He truly does love his job and is passionate about making sure every horse is carefully shod so they can reach their potential. He kept my rodeo horse moving great so that I was able to win an all-around saddle. I knew it wouldn’t have been possible without all his hard work and I am so glad he was there to see me accept my saddle. He is 100% a top notch farrier!
