The Hoofcare Essentials Foundation is providing grants to offset the costs of educational events.

Farriers and others interested in equine hoof-care educational events can apply for grants to help pay for expenses not only for staging the events but also for hoof-care professionals to attend.

“The Hoofcare Essentials Foundation will now provide farriers and others interested in equine hoof care the opportunity to apply for grants to offset the costs of farriers to attend educational events; pay for the expenses of a clinician; or assist in the expenses for coffee and donuts for a clinic,” according to a news release from the foundation. “In 2022, a small group of internationally recognized farriers conversed about the need of having an organization that would focus on providing continuing education opportunities for the farrier industry. This group was made up of current and former members of a variety of farrier associations including the American Farrier’s Association (AFA), the International Association of Professional Farriers (IAPF), World Championship Blacksmiths (WCB), and many other state/provincial and regional associations. Initial members of the Foundation’s Board of Directors include Roy Bloom, Tim Cable, Dave Farley, Steve Prescott, Adam Wynbrandt and Bryan Quinsey.”

The Hoofcare Essentials Foundation is an Advocacy Partner of American Farriers Journal.
