American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Have you ever picking up a plate at an upscale dinner buffet and perused the offerings when you are very hungry? Your first impulse is to try to devour everything before you because it all looks so good. After you realize that is impossible, you have to make some difficult decisions on what to load on your plate.
The 2010 IHCS created a similar dilemma. The speaker lineup was filled with all-star presenters who came to Cincinnati well-trained, well-prepared and ready to teach. The subject matter covered just about every conceivable farrier issue you could think of.
I have been very fortunate in having a perfect attendance record for all seven Summits. The presentations have become more sophisticated every year and the information delivered is more dazzling. Each year, I look forward to renewing old friendships and starting new ones. In addition to the camaraderie, I relish the idea of new ideas and products to try.
Unfortunately due to the number of speakers giving presentations, I’m unable to attend every session. My apologies to anyone not mentioned here, but I was way outnumbered. Of the ones that I attended, I picked my top 20 in the order in which they were presented, not in the order of preference. If a speaker had multiple sessions, I combined those briefings.
I am sure that late Hall Of Fame farrier and Scotsman Edward Martin would have given Jim Ferrie a pat on the back and a “Well done, laddie” after his presentations. Ferrie…
