THE NEW executive director of the American Farrier’s Association, Bryan Quinsey, was selected in mid-November by the group’s board of directors to head up the Lexington, Ky., organization. His experience includes marketing, operations and economic development work with a chamber of commerce, an economic development corporation and several volunteer organizations.

Quinsey’s interest in the equine industry started in high school in Canada and led to work with show horses, racehorses and carriage driving horses as a groom, trainer and equine manager in Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky and Ontario. He is a former member of the United Professional Horseman’s Association and the American Hackney Horse Society.

The AFA executive board has directed Quinsey to focus on increasing awareness of AFA and its educational programs, growth and retention of members, development of sponsorships and alliances with other equine groups nd bringing fiscal health and balance to the organization.
