Farrier Rodney Lee Carter of Calhan, Colo., passed away Sunday, Aug. 29, 2015. He was 47.
His family and friends remember him as a kind-hearted, hard-working man who will be dearly missed. Carter never passed up an opportunity to help others; always just a phone call away. Above all else, he loved his family and took great pride in their accomplishments. Rodney dedicated his life to working with horses as a trainer, farrier and participated as a cattleman in the National Versatility Ranch Horse Association.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Friday at Evergreen Funeral Home, 1830 Fountain Blvd., Colorado Springs. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 5 at the Living Word Community Church, 532 Colorado Ave., Calhan. A reception will follow. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 9 at the Y/6 Ranch in Silver City, N.M.
