Orangeville, Texas, farrier Edward Elza Lee Stephens passed away Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015, at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas. He was 75.
Stephens demonstrated his horseshoeing skills at Loy Lake Park in Sherman and at Old City Park in Dallas. He was the subject of an episode of “8 Country Reporter,” and he appeared as “Texas Past” in a Dallas Semiconductor advertising poster comparing Texas then and now.
Visitation will be 5:30 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 1, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Whitewright. Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at a later date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Brinkley, Ark.
