American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
A record number of footcare professionals invaded Cincinnati, Ohio, for the 13th annual International Hoof-Care Summit for the sole purpose of “Working Together For Healthy Hooves.”
Attendees of this winter’s Summit were treated to a wealth of information from some of the most knowledgeable hoof-care experts in the world. Over 4 days in the first week of February, they had the opportunity to take part in:
“This year’s lineup of Hans Castelijns, Renate Weller, Bob Pethick, Vern Dryden and Mitch Taylor were all great,” says Lexington, Ky., farrier Steve Stanley. “This might be the strongest Summit to date!”
Dana Roen couldn’t agree more.
“The amount of information that has been provided and it’s not overwhelming is my Wow moment,” says the Backus, Minn., farrier. “The information was well described by the speakers. The Summit was a wealth of knowledge that is priceless!”
Over the past several years, American Farriers Journal Technical Editor Red Renchin enthusiastically performed the task of describing the “Wow” moments at the Summit. The Hall Of Fame farrier sadly passed away Aug. 29, leaving a void that never can be filled. This year, a committee of footcare professionals were enlisted to carry Red’s torch and share their Wow moments, along with thoughts that attendees provided in the Summit surveys.
For those of you who could not make this year’s Summit, here’s what you missed.
