Farrier Lawrence Ray Sparrow, formerly of the Loraine and Warsaw areas passed away Thursday, March 3, 2016, in the Hospice of the Valley-Lund Home in Gilbert, Ariz. He was 85.

Sparrow was on the Arizona Rangers Horse Division, trained Arabian horses and ran L&M Training Stables. He loved reading, dancing, watching birds and making things out of horseshoes.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 19, 2016, at Hunter Funeral Home in Mendon, Ill. Interment will be in New Providence Cemetery, near Ursa. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions have been suggested to Faith Sisters Inc. at 16017 W. Ghost Ranch Rd., Casa Grande, AZ 85122.
