American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Racing from barn to barn, working on horses well after dark and spending numerous hours doing the bookwork for your business doesn’t leave you a lot of time to get the recognition you so rightly deserve. Knowing the humble mindset of horseshoers – you’d probably like to keep it that way.
But, the staff at American Farriers Journal can’t let this dedicated group of individuals go unnoticed. So, for the fifth year in a row, this magazine is sponsoring National Farriers Week, which is running from July 6 to 12.
The dog days of July seem like the ideal time to recognize hard-working farriers. Few others are working in sweltering hot barns with feisty, uncomfortable animals that are in no mood to stand on three feet. And, no other profession has its members hunched over doing backbreaking work from the crack of dawn until the crickets are singing at night.
If there is any month of the year when you could use a chance to take a step back, it’s July. Wipe your brow, take a big gulp from that water jug and don’t blow off the idea of having a week in your honor.
Some horse owners may give you a well deserved pat on the back for a job well done, but other clients aren’t so supportive. Either way, you should take the time to realize how critical you have been to the well-being of your clients’ horses…
