McGovern
New assignments were announced in mid August for two members of the American Farriers Journal (AFJ) team.
Jeremy McGovern takes on the additional duties as publisher of the world’s leading equine hoof-care publication. He also serves as the publication’s executive editor and conference director of the International Hoof-Care Summit.
Cota
Jeff Cota takes on the duties of managing editor after serving 2½ years as the publication’s associate editor.
“Both of these staffers have played critical roles in the growth and expansion of our equine footcare franchise and are well qualified to take on these new roles and duties,” says AFJ editor Frank Lessiter. “Our entire Lessiter Media team looks forward to continued growth and expansion of these properties under their leadership.”
McGovern and Cota also will become more deeply involved with numerous electronic properties dealing with equine footcare and the International Hoof-Care Summit. Now in its 14th year, the Summit has become the world’s leading educational event and trade show for footcare professionals and each winter brings together more than 1,000 attendees from nearly 2 dozen countries.
An AFJ team member for 8 years, McGovern has served as a magazine, newsletter and electronic journalist for more than 20 years. A native of Indiana, he also is a member of the board of directors for the American Horse Publications organization, which is made up of more than 200 equine media members.
