Take Pride In Your Work

July’s National Farriers Week is a good time to reflect on the tremendous amount of good that hoof-care professionals do in the equine community

As a farrier, you probably like being your own boss and knowing that you are providing essential footcare to the horses of your clients. You didn’t get into this business for accolades.

Still, at times, a little recognition is nice.

A Pat On The Back Helps

That’s why we think it’s important for horse owners, trainers, riders, grooms and others in the equine industry to say thanks for all the great work you do throughout the year. And why we came up with the idea of National Farriers Week to help say thanks for a job well done. Sponsored by American Farriers Journal and the International Hoof-Care Summit, many of your footcare clients will have already heard of this July 6 to 12 event via announcements in a number of general horse publications.

Ready For Framing

If you have an apprentice or a shoeing buddy who you feel deserves special recognition for their dedication and professionalism, you can download a National Farriers Week recognition certificate at www.americanfarriers.com/ as a means of honoring them for their outstanding footcare work.

And if a client happens to walk down to the barn where you’re working on a hot summer day with a cool glass of lemonade and a plate of freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies and says thanks for a job well done, the chances are good that he or she has been alerted to the value of National Farriers Week in saluting your essential work.
