American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine is hosting a 2-day workshop for farriers and veterinarians in East Lansing, Mich. Wayne Preece will be the clinician. The workshop will also feature veterinarians Betsy Carr, Marc Kinsley and Jane Manfredi.
The first day will consist of a distal limb and hoof dissection lab, a lunch lecture on dysfunctions of a team approach, farrier and veterinarian perspective on common hoof pathology treatment approaches, an advanced imaging lab and an advanced forging lab. The second day will feature the Farrier and Vet Team Case Challenge (followed by discussion of the exercise and the solutions that will be developed), a lunch lecture on improving farrier/veterinarian communication, Participant Interactive Case Discussion (attendees are encouraged to bring case images to discuss or submit them in advance) and a lecture by Wayne Preece.
