American Farriers Journal
American Farriers Journal is the “hands-on” magazine for professional farriers, equine veterinarians and horse care product and service buyers.
Hosted by Doug Russo, CJF, head farrier at Iowa State University, this clinic will provide attendees with hands-on experience in lameness cases, shoeing techniques and endocrine management at the Missouri Forget Me Not Horse Rescue and Equestrian Center in Linn Creek, Mo., Aug. 2-3, 2024.
On Friday, August 2, Tab Pigg, CJF, and Roy Williams, CJF, will walk through various treatments and shoeing techniques for lameness cases learned from decades of experience. Before- and after-treatment x-rays will be available. Though a few rigs will be provided, please bring your own hand tools if possible. On Saturday morning, Boehringer Ingelheim will present "Recognition and Management of the Endocrine Horse for Farriers and Veterinarians." A discussion on the presentation and Friday's therapeutic results will follow. On Saturday afternoon, Doug Russo will present "Whole Horse Function and Anatomy for Better Shoeing."
