Pasadena, Md., farrier Patrick “Pat” McCarthy passed away. He was 76.
McCarthy served in the U.S. Army for 9 years and then worked as a firefighter at the Baltimore City Fire Department, rising to the rank of lieutenant. He dedicated more than 20 years to the fire department until a medical retirement in 1987.
McCarthy also worked as a farrier over the years and went on to own McCarthy’s Horseshoe Supply.
