Farriery Novel Up for National Book Award in England

The book was written by a mother of a farriery apprentice
Seventeen years ago, 16-year-old Joe Robinson set off to be an apprentice farrier in England. He would vent his trials and tribulations to his mother, an English teacher at Stonyhurst College. She then did what anyone who had a plethora of humorous stories about farriery would do: She wrote a book.

California Senator Renews Her Call to Halt Racing at Santa Anita

California Sen. Dianne Feinstein has issued her second statement in as many months calling for a halting of horse racing at Santa Anita Race Track after the death of another horse. Kochees, which died on May 26, was the third horse to die in a span of nine 9 days at the track, and the 26th since December Dec. 26, 2018.
