Lee Liles’ Horseshoeing Museum Is Moving To Oklahoma City

The National Museum of Horse Shoeing Tools will call the Historic Stockyards City its home
The late Lee Liles dedicated his life to preserving the heritage of farriery with the creation of the National Museum of Horse Shoeing Tools and Hall Of Honor. Nine months after his passing, Liles’ family delivered a valentine to their patriarch and the farrier industry by announcing the collection will have a permanent home in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Study Reveals Laminitis Occurs as Frequently as Colic

New research conducted by the Animal Health Trust in collaboration with Rossdales Equine Hospital reveals that 1 in 10 horses or ponies might develop at least one laminitic episode each year. This occurrence makes laminitis just as common as colic. And just as colic can happen during any season, the study has identified that there is no “safe” period from laminitis, as reported by Phys.org.

Sheridan College’s farrier science program is back in session with Buffalo, Wyo., farrier Quint Gonzales as its new farrier instructor.
Sheridan College’s farrier science program is back in session with Buffalo, Wyo., farrier Quint Gonzales as its new farrier instructor. The program was previously not available for a few years after its former instructor Steve Stephenson retired. When Powell, Wyo., Northwest College’s farrier professor also retired, the last local farrier courses went away, too.
