After being highly recommended to Florida Farrier Service it took me a while to make an appointment due to living 4 hours away. Within a few minutes, I knew I had made the right decision! He instantly explained the problem with her feet and a plan for correcting her issues. Along with knowing what needed to be done, he had a complete understanding of PSSM and was so very patient with her (she is extremely tight on one of her hind legs)! She is tracking better and feels so good in competition now! Very Blessed to have found him!

My 17-year-old Quarter Horse was having some fairly serious issues with his right front. Upon having X-rays, my osteopath highly recommended Clayton. She stated she has never seen work like his. Once that was done, Teri asked if I could bring my horse to their home that very evening. Clayton came home after working all day in the dark. Met me and my horse just a soon as he parked his rig. Never went into the house but straight to work on Curly. Clayton and his team are extremely courteous, caring and above all, extremely knowledgeable. I know they truly care for their clients and their horses. They take time to educate, work along side vets and their clients, treating all with the utmost respect.

Clayton would be a wonderful educator of future farriers. If he doesn’t have an answer, he’ll research and ponder until he has one. His work is exceptional. I truly believe if Clayton doesn’t know what’s wrong, he won’t sleep until he does.

If you are a lucky horse owner, your horse can go barefoot or take an off the shelf steel or aluminum shoe. I am not that horse owner. I have a Thoroughbred with extremely difficult feet that would have most farriers running in the opposite direction. It was a tough road, but Clayton Wilber never gave up. He tried traditional approaches, but when that didn’t work he used his exceptional creative problem solving skills to find the answer. Finding Clayton and his wife Teri has been such a blessing. Teri is super efficient and keeps up with all appointments day-to-day. Clayton has helped get my mare on track with a different approach than a previous farrier and we are already seeing progress! Colton is an excellent addition to the team and I even bragged that my mare stood like a statue while he worked on her. Lately, she had been getting in trouble until we met this team.

I will never forget the first time that I slid her on the trailer and took her along as a consult and he told me he couldn't leave that shoe that was previously put on her another minute! It was already a long day as I was the last client and he went ahead and took care of my girl anyway.

For service like that and putting the comfort of a horse first means everything to me and I would drive across the state if I had to! It's great to have a farrier who works along with so many veterinarians in the area who has such a wide range of knowledge and experience and skill.
